To evaluate long-term impact of bilateral cataract surgery on complication rates, visual assessment, influence of age at surgery in microphthalmic eyes upto 4 years.

Setting:

Iladevi Cataract & IOL Research Centre, Raghudeep Eye Hospital, Gurukul Road, Memnagar, Ahmedabad - 380052

Despite trabeculectomy,2 eyes had uncontrolled IOP and underwent Ahmed valve implantation 3.8 years postoperatively. VAO in 4(11.1 %) eyes and all had secondary procedures. Infants less than 3mths of age, secondary glaucoma developed in 10/22(45.5%), VAO in 3/21(14.3%),post.synechiae in 6/22(27.3%) eyes.Loss of vision after surgery in 2 eyes.

Conclusions:
