Abstract Details
Purpose:
To evaluate the short term effects of bevacizumab injections on the regression of corneal neovascularization and to introduce the new analysis method for corneal neovascularization
Setting:
Prospective/St. Mary's Hospital Seoul, Korea
Methods:
20 patients with corneal NV were injection with 0.05 mg of bevacizumab through subconjunctival. The patients were prospectively followed-up for one month and 3 months after the injections.
Corneal NV areas, as shown on corneal slit-lamp photographs stored in JPEG format, were calculated using Image J software and use the color spectrum softeare
before the injection, one week after the injection, and one month, 3 months after the injection.
The two analysis methods were compared before and after the injections.
Results:
The mean decrease in corneal NV area one and three months after injection were not significant. And Color spectrum method showed higher reproducibility than Image J method
Conclusions:
The mean decrease in corneal NV area one and three months after injection were not significant. And Color spectrum method showed higher reproducibility than Image J method
