Abstract Details

Purpose:

to present a Nomogram to calculate the appropriate energy in femto laser setting before the capsulotomy and the nucleus’ fragmentation in femtosecond cataract procedure with Victus B+L femtosecond laser to optimize the treatment to reach a Zero Ultrasound procedure.

Setting:

Centro Diagnostico Italiano – Milan- Italy

Methods:

To evaluate the nucleus’ densitometry in the preoperative phase, pupill under dilation, using a Scheimpflug Camera. (Sirius CSO, Florence, Italy) To change the percentage density number in a prime number to create an index (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) To transfer the same index to the Treatment Session Victus Mask to allows the Surgeons to automatically select the Fragmentation Pattern (energy).

Results:

In our 740 catarat procedure with Victus femto laser to know the nucleus’ densitometry in the preoperative phase allows the Surgeon to choose the right Frammentation Pattern and above all the right Frammentation Energy. To choose the right Energy allows to have a correct Victus Frammentation, reducing bubbles and turbolence. To choose the right Energy allows to reduce the EPT time of the facoemulsification phase and it allowed, for grade 1 to 3, a facoemulsification procedure with Zero ultrasound using the Bausch+Lomb femto cataract handpiece 30°.

Conclusions:

To have an index and a serial numbering to insert on the Treatment Session Victus Display allows the Surgeon to select treatment in an easy and confident way. This innovation will reduce the Surgeons’ learning curve in Victus femto cataract procedure.
