To report a typical and interesting case of Hansen's disease with multiple organ involvement associated with ocular manifestations

Abstract Details
Purpose:
Even though an extinct disease,it is still seen & Need for detailed ocular examination is very high.
Setting:
Mamata Medical College and General Hospital, Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Methods:
A 49 yr old male patient presented to the ophthal OPD at MGH ,KHAMMAM with complaints of dimnished vision RE ,slit lamp,schrimmer's strip,flourescein dye,direct & indirect ophthalmoscope,X-Rays,Slit skin smear,skin biopsy,with general physical examination of the patient.
Results:
On complete detailed & thorough examination of patient ,he is diagnosed to be a case of old hansen's disease with Rt.facial nerve palsy,loss of wrinkles on Rt.half of forehead,associated with ocular manifestations like,RE lagophthalmos,,corneal opacity,irregular pupil with posterior synechiae ,complicated cataract & associated with complete bilateral claw hands,trophic ulcers on rt hand & left sole,multiple pathological fractures in foot & resorption of bones in hands &foot ,loss of medial longitudinal arch of left foot.
Conclusions:
Hansen's disease is rarely seen but still its there
