Abstract Details

Purpose:

- To evaluate visual outcome and rotational stability of a new diffractive (AMO Tecnis Toric Multifocal 1-Piece IOL ZMT ) multifocal toric IOL in patients undergoing cataract surgery with corneal astigmatism.

Setting:

SuVi Eye Institute & Lasik Laser Center, Kota, Rajasthan, India

Methods:

Standard topical phacoemulsification & Implantation of AMO tecnis Toric Multifocal IOL in capsular bag.

Results:

The study included 10 eyes (10 patients). SE refraction within ± 0.50 D of the attempted spherical correction was achieved in 9 eyes (90%). Mean toric IOL axis rotation was 3.24 ± 1.33 degrees.

Conclusions:

In this pilot study, AMO Tecnis toric multifocal IOL provided excellent distance, intermediate and near vision, along with correction of preoperative astigmatism. FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
