Abstract Details
Purpose:
Perform Presbyopia and Glaucoma Surgery simultaneously
Setting:
A 56 year-old Presbyopic patient, OD UCVA 20/40 BCVA 20/20 with +2.25 -0.25 @ 10º and OI UCVA 20/50 BCVA 20/20 with +2.50 -0.50 @ 15º, ADD +2.50 D in both eyes with Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma, IOP 29/25 mmHg, Computerized Visual Field Brusinni 3 generalized in OD and Brusinni 1 generalized in OI, Óptic Nerve Excavation 0.7 in OD and 0.6 in OI, Optical Coherence Tomography of Óptic Nerve with nerve fibers layer alteration in both eyes
Methods:
First we realize the monovision contact lens test to confirm the tolerance to the same, and then perform the Glaucorefractive Surgery in Both eyes to correct Presbyopia and Glaucoma Simultaneously, With Phacoemulsification and Non-Penetrating Deep Sclerectomy surgery (PhacoNPDS), the right eye (dominant eye) for far vision and the left eye (non-dominant eye) to close.
Results:
OD UCVA 20/20 OI UCVA 20/50 BCVA 20/20 with -1.50 -0.25 @ 10 º and Binocular UCVA 20/20 for distance and 20/25 for near vision, IOP 15/14 mmHg without glaucoma medications after a year of surgery
Conclusions:
Glaucorefractive Surgery with PhacoNPDS for monovisión, is a very good surgical alternative in presbyopic glaucoma patient, if tolerate monovision contact lenses test previously FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
