Abstract Details
Purpose:
To study the ICL vault prediction using STS UBM Compact Touch ICL Simulator
Setting:
Tertiary Eye Care Centre and Teaching Institute in South India
Methods:
23 eyes of 17 patients underwent Implantable Collamer Lens Implantation for correction of high myopia and astigmatism. Ultrasound Biomicroscopy was performed with STS UBM Compact Touch for knowing the Sulcus to Sulcus distance and the ICL Simulator Software was used for predicting the Post-operative Vault. Post-operatively Anterior Segment OCT was performed to know the vault and the anterior chamber depth
Results:
The mean age of the patients undergoing the procedure was 27.5 years of which 10 were males and 13 were females. The mean UCVA was 1.47, mean BCVA was 0.085 pre-operatively, mean UCVA was 0.090. of these 7 eyes underwent ICL wheras 16 eyes underwent Toric ICL implantation. The mean predicted vault on the UBM was 0.58 ± 0.138 SD and post-operative vault on the Anterior Segment OCT was 0.66 ± 0.214 SD. The paired T-Test showed significant co-relation between the predicted vault on the UBM and the post-operative vault on the ASOCT (p=0.015 )
Conclusions:
The ICL simulator software helps in decision making for sizing the ICL by predicting the post-operative vault FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
