Abstract Details
Purpose:
To present the management of a case with luxated iris claw lens in the retina of a previously virectomised eye
Setting:
Eye Laser Center Kubati, Pristina, Kosovo
Methods:
Thirty-three year old male presented with eye trauma in the right eye. During ocular examination visual acuity was 0.05, mild reaction in anterior chamber and aphakia. Ophthalmoscopy showed the presence of IOL in the retina. Patient history revealed cataract extraction, iris claw IOL implantation and PPV three years ago. Patient underwent surgical intervention during which the subluxated IOL was removed from retina and fixated retropupillary.
Results:
Post operative evaluation was uneventful.
Conclusions:
Despite iris claw lenses being very stable, their luxation in eye trauma is possible. FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
