Abstract Details
Purpose:
For internal quality purposes it is important to know the clinical quality delivered to patients. The same information can be used in patient communication: short and long term both for satisfaction levels and traditional clinical results. This study summarize what to expect 3 months after surgery for patients at Memira, Norway.
Setting:
Results presented are unselected results for all surgeries performed from Oct 2012 to May 2013 by two surgeons at Memira in Norway. All cases are primary surgeries on privatly paid patents. Surgery are performed at 7 clinics. 3 eximer systems and 4 types of RLE were used.
Methods:
Clinical data was collected in September 2013 from Memira`s computerized database. Results include all of the patients the two surgeouns treated in the time periode.
Results:
Pre and postoperatively refractive data will be presented by numbers and graphics. Retreatment rate will also be shown. NPS results will be presented and compared with NPS numbers from other companies outside the refractive industry.
Conclusions:
Results after refractive surgery are important to use as a guide for further improvements of results. Patients care for both refractive outcomes and patient satisfaction numbers. Easy presentation is key to set realistic expectaions levels for the patients. FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
