Purpose:
To evaluate the results of lateral tarsal strip surgery outcome in patients with lower lid involutional entropion
Setting:
Interventionl case seies study
Methods:
This interventionl case seies study evaluated the outcome of 12 patients with involution lower eyelid entropion who referred to Amir Almomenin hospital between April 2011 and April 2013and underwent surgical repair lateral tarsal strip(LTS) procedure. Analysis was done using SPSS software.
Results:
Total participants were 12 patients that from them 91.7% were male and 8.3% was female. The average age of patients was 76.6 ± 7.14 years old .snapback test was abnormal in all patients.58.3% was at the grade 0 and 41.7% was at the grade 1.The follow-up period was 6 to 20 months (mean, 12.91±-4.56) .the average distraction test, LCTs and excursion test were 10.58±2.93 mm , 8mm and 3±1.27 respectively. The success of operation is 100%
Conclusions:
Lateral tarsal strip is the successful surgical procedures in the patients with lower eye lid involuational entropion FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
