Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate visual performance and rotational stability at 3 months for the E-1HT toric lens.

Setting:

C.M.A Centro di Microchirurgia Ambulatoriale, Via Donizetti 24, Monza (Milan)

Methods:

Prospective study of 18 eyes with corneal astigmatism greater than 1.00 diopter. Phacoemulsification was performed and the E-1HT toric lens was implanted. Rotational stability, UCVA and BCVA were assessed at 1 day, 1 month, and 3 months postoperatively.

Results:

Patients presented with a mean corneal cylinder of 1.52 D ± 0.51. The mean residual refractive cylinder was 0.51 ± 0.12. 3 month postoperative results showed a significant improvement in UCDVA, BCDVA, UCNVA, BCNVA, residual postoperative astigmatism and change in axis less than 5 degrees in all patients studied.

Conclusions:

The E-1HT toric IOL demonstrated excellent results at 3 months in both visual acuity and rotational stability.
