Abstract Details

Purpose:

Analysis of the stability, refractive and visual outcomes of 300 implantations of the FineVision (MicroF, Physiol, Belgium) IOLs

Setting:

Centre Ophtalmologique IRIDIS, Albi, France

Methods:

This prospective non-controlled study includes outcomes after 300 consecutive implantations in 150 patients of the FineVision (MicroF, PhysIOL, Belgium) IOLs. All IOLs were introduced through MICS with the main incision at 1.8 mm at the end of the surgery. Preoperatively, the axial length, corneal power and anterior chamber depths were measured. The postoperative refraction, visual acuities at near and far were also analyzed. The surgeon factor was identified as the average position of the IOL in the eye, average position behind the iris; the median, average, and standard deviation of this SF parameter were focused on.

Results:

The IOL powers were ranging 10.5 to 29.5 D. Ninety four per cent (94,5%) of the spherical equivalents were between -0.5 D and 0.5D. Ninety two percent of eyes had a visual acuity of LogMAR 0.1 or better. The surgeon factor was 1.83±0.36 mm, ranging from 0,88 to 3,92 mm (with an outsider at 5,92 mm in an highly myopic eye). The median was 1,83 and 75% of the IOL were below 1.55 mm.

Conclusions:

The anteroposterior position of the MICS trifocal IOL is reproducible in most of the eye configurations. Very little outsiders were found. These outsiders should be removed for the IOL optimization.
