Abstract Details
Purpose:
To evaluate ablation depth with the intraoperative optical coherence pachymetry (OCP) during myopic LASIK surgery.
Setting:
Prospective series of 59 eyes of 32 patients operated on with the Alcon refractive suite equipped with OCP.
Methods:
Corneal thickness was measured before and after the ablation.
Results:
Mean stromal depth was 20.68 m/D with a 6.5 mm optical zone , and 15.79 m/D with a 6.00 mm optical zone . We found a good correlation between attempted correction and ablation depth (0.756; p<0.05).
Conclusions:
Intraoperative online pachymetry enabled the measurement of stromal ablation depth during LASIK. A larger series of patients is necessary to validate our preliminary clinical results. FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
