Abstract Details
Purpose:
To elaborate on the clinical manifestations,sequelae and management of corneal bee sting injuries
Setting:
A case report and adapted surgical techniques
Methods:
Slit lamp examination and clinical evaluation at presentation,followed by stinger removal under microscope and microbiological evaluation and appropriate medical management.The sequelae anterior segment complications of decompensated cornea and complicated cataract and their surgical management with penetrating keratoplasty and cataract extraction with PCIOL implantation
Results:
Improvement of visual acuity from hand movements close to face to 6/24
Conclusions:
The sequelae of corneal bee sting injury are more visually devastating than the actual injury itself.Timely and active management can give the patient reasonably good visual recovery FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
