Abstract Details

Purpose:

to demonstrate a new technique of rotating an IOL within the capsular bag

Setting:

conducted and studied at Vasan Eye Care Hospitals, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India

Methods:

The author will discuss a new technique to rotate the IOL easily within the capsular bag both in a clockwise and anti- clockwise direction, and even in small pupils without having to reach out to the periphery of the IOL to do so

Results:

pivot rotation uses a fulcrum under the IOL in the form of the IA probe around which the IOL can e turned/rotated with ease, simply by gently tapping on the IOL surface and without having to manipulate the periphery of the IOl

Conclusions:

the new technique simplifies IOL rotation within the capsular bag. FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
