Abstract Details

Purpose:

The purpose of this study is to evaluate rotational stability of toric ACRYSOF IQ

Setting:

Spitalul sf Spiridon Iasi Romania

Methods:

This is a four years prospective study on eyes that underwent toric intraocular lens implantation after cataract surgery performed by the same surgeon. Keratorefractometry values, best corrected distace visual acuity were measuread at 2 weeks, 1, 3, 6, 12 month follow-up. Toric IOL alignment was evaluated using stil lamp retroilumination photography. Phothos purchased were pocessed by a computer program PHOTOSHOP and the landmarks were made to calculate the deviation from the predetermined axis. Data were storead in a table in Microsft Office Excel 2007.

Results:

postoperative last control results were: mean best corrected visual acuity 0,9 Snellen; mean residual refractive cylinder was 0,124 D; IOL rotation was less than 5 degree in 81,1% and less than 10 degree in 97,1%.

Conclusions:

toric ACRYSOF IQ rotational stability was good with high visual quality results. FINANCIAL INTEREST: NONE
