The ingrowth of epithelium after trauma in the remote period after LASIK

Abstract Details

Purpose:

Showing the consequences of eye trauma after LASIK surgery and ways of resolving them.

Setting:

Hospital Ac.S.N. Fyodorov Federal State Institution “Eye Microsurgery Complex” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Novosibirsk branch”, address: 10 Kolhidskaya str., 630096, Novosibirsk, Russia.

Methods:

In year 2006 LASIK ( microkeratome Moria LSK one, laser Technolas 217Z100). In 2012 scalp injury of the cornea followed by primary surgical treatment. In 2015 epithelium growing with a gradual decrease in vision. In 2017 removal of epithelial tissue from the subflap space (photo 1,2).

Results:

The operation was carried out successfully, maximum vision was obtained within 2 months after the reoperation.

Conclusions:

In the long term after LASIK, damage of the corneal flap is possible. The tactics of reference do not differ from the recent conduct of LASIK.
