Outcomes of Lentis Comfort toric implantation in Asian eyes

Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate the visual and refractive outcomes of a series of Asian eyes implanted with Lentis Comfort toric IOL following phacoemulsification cataract surgery.

Setting:

International Specialist Eye Centre (ISEC) Penang.

Methods:

Restrospective analysis of all cataract surgeries performed in 2017 with implantation of the Lentis Comfort toric lens implant.

Results:

112 eyes of 89 Asian patients were implanted with the Lentic Comfort toric lens implant in 2017. Pre-oepratively, mean logMAR visual acuity was 0.4 and mean magnitude of corneal astigmatism was 1.5D. Post-operation, at 1 month follow up, mean logMAR visual acuity was 0.15 and mean residual refractive astigmatism was 0.7D. Mean spherical equivalent post-surgery was -0.23D.

Conclusions:

Lentis Comfort toric lens gives good visual outcomes and effectively reduces astigmatism in Asian eyes.
