Purpose:
To evaluate 3-month visual performance and satisfaction of patients implanted bilaterally the new hydrophobic trifocal lens.
Setting:
Augen-Zentrum-Nordwest
Methods:
Fifteen patients presenting for cataract surgery, were implanted the new hydrophobic trifocal lens. Uncorrected distance (UDVA), intermediate (UIVA) and near (UNVA) visual acuities (VA) and as well as distance corrected visual acuities (CDVA, DCIVA, DCNVA) were evaluated at 3 months post-implantation.
Results:
All patients reached excellent visual acuities at distance, intermediate and near which was between LogMAR -0,10 and 0,18. The A-constant 119,4 for the SRK-T formula works well. Patient satisfaction was high though patients still complained about halos and glare while driving at night.
Conclusions:
With the new hydrophobic trifocal Finevision Pod F GF IOL patients achieve spectacle independence at far, intermediate and near which leads to high satisfaction. Nevertheless halos and glare remain even with the new hydrophobic material a theme.
