Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate the one month post-operative visual outcomes (distance, intermediate and near) of Lentis MplusX MF30 and MplusX MF30T intraocular lens in post-LASIK eyes after cataract surgery.

Setting:

VISTA Eye Specialist, MALAYSIA

Methods:

33 post-LASIK eyes were implanted with Lentis MplusX MF30 and 17 post-LASIK eyes were implanted with Lentis MplusX MF30T intraocular lens from year 2013 to 2017. The uncorrected visual acuity for distance (UCDVA), intermediate (UCIVA) and near (UCNVA) were evaluated 1 month post-operatively.

Results:

The mean UCDVA was 0.70±0.49logMAR with 24% achieving 20/32 or better pre-phacoemulsification.At post-op 1 month, 33 eyes with Lentis MplusXMF30 implant achieved the mean UCDVA of 0.17±0.18logMAR, with 73% achieving 20/32 or better. Mean UCIVA was 0.05±0.12logMAR with 85% achieving 20/25 or better, mean UCNVA was 0.14±0.35logMAR with 97% achieving J3 or better. 17 eyes with Lentis MplusXMF30T implant achieved the mean UCDVA of 0.20±0.24 logMAR, with 71% achieving 20/32 or better. Mean UCIVA was 0.02±0.16 logMAR with 77% achieving 20/25 or better, mean UCNVA was 0.11±0.11 logMAR with 94% achieving J3 or better.

Conclusions:

There is a statistically significant improvement in unaided distance vision (p<0.001) with Lentis MplusX MF30 and MplusX MF30T intraocular lens implantation in post-LASIK eyes, along with good visual outcomes in unaided intermediate and near vision post-operatively.
