Abstract Details
Purpose:
The objective of this study is to determine postoperative visual ability and satisfaction of patient and surgeon in eyes with bilateral implanted RayOne® Trifocal RA0603F IOL.
Setting:
Hospital of St. John of God, Vienna, Austria
Methods:
Subjects desiring spectacle independence underwent bilateral refractive lens exchange using the RayOne® Trifocal RA0603F IOL (Rayner, UK) with six-month follow-up. Spectacle-corrected and uncorrected visual acuity at far, intermediate, and near distances were assessed. Patient satisfaction and visual symptoms were reported on a scale (0-10).
Results:
Fourteen eyes of 7 patients with mean age 68.1 ± 6.0 years were included. One month postoperative, the average UCDVA was -0.04 ± 0.07 logMAR, UCIVA was -0.05 ± 0.08 logMAR, and UCNVA was -0.14 ± 0.10 logMAR. Six out of 7 patients achieved full spectacle independence across all distances. Visual symptoms were mild (<3) for halo, glare, and starburst. Average overall patient satisfaction was 9/10. No adverse events were reported.
Conclusions:
Implantation of the RayOne® Trifocal RA0603F IOL safely and effectively provides spectacle independence across a broad range of distances.
