Purpose:
To present the results of 50 cases for uncorrected distance and near after insertion of the IC8 pinhole IOL folowing routine cataract surgery in normal, post refractive and keratoconic eyes
Setting:
Private Practice, Gold Coast, Australia
Methods:
Consecutive case study of 50 eyes having IC8 IOL was examined postoperatively for uncorrected distance and near vision as well as defocus curves and functional questionaires.
Single surgeon practice with only one eye performed with the other eye having distance focus IOL. Patients post LASIK and PRK as well as keratoconic eyes were targeted due to the theoretical reduction in higher order abberrations which maybe of benefit compared to other IOLs.
Results:
Results to be presented
Conclusions:
The Acufocus IC8 pinhole IOL is a novel approach to EDOF IOLs and appears to provide reasonable distance and near focus with a good range of focus. It is particularly suitable for eyes with abnormal topography who otherwise cannot have multifocal IOLs
