Abstract Details
Purpose:
We report a Scheimflug image of a case of rare presentation of Superior(PMCD) highlighting the importance of Scheimflug image in diagnosis of this rare case.
Setting:
Al-Nahdha Hospital, Muscat, Oman
Methods:
A case report. A 43 year old male presented with bilateral gradual decreased vision ((best corrected spectacle Visual Acuity was 6/36 in each eye)) as a result of significant against the rule astigmatism.After Full clinical assessment, a Scheimpflug image was done to the patient.

Results:
We diagnosed Superior PMCD after exclusion of Pellucid like keratoconus and Terrien marginal degeneration. A significant improvement of visual acuity to 6/9 in each eye without surgical intervention after arrangement of PROSE ((Prosthetic Replacement of the Ocular Surface Ecosystem, Boston Foundation for Sight, USA)) Contact lens.
Conclusions:
Scheimpflug imaging is an essential investigation tool in definitive
diagnosis of superior PMCD and other atypical corneal ectasia.
