Abstract Details

Purpose:

To show the capabilities of the analytical module "VERION Vision Planner" of the navigation system "VERION Image Guided System" in calculating the optical strength of the premium IOL, to assess the degree of coincidence of the potentially expected refraction with the resulting operation.

Setting:

Department of eye diseases of the "Samara state medical University", Ophthalmic clinic "Eye Surgery", Samara, Russia

Methods:

Presented are clinical examples of cataract surgery in patients, consistently admitted to the ophthalmic clinic "Eye Surgery" for cataract phacoemulsification with implantation of premium-class IOL company "Alcon". Potentially expected refractive effects calculated on the navigation system "VERION Image Guided System" were compared with those actually obtained after the operation.

Results:

In all patients, the obtained refractive effect practically coincided with the potentially expected one. All patients are fully satisfied with the results of the operation.

Conclusions:

1. Navigation system "VERION Image Guided System" provides high-precision preoperative predictive calculation of optical strength of premium-class IOL with the result of high-vision phacoemulsification. 2. Deviation of the spherical refraction component obtained in the postoperative period from the expected, according to "VERION Vision Planner", was 0.08 dptr; deviation of the cylindrical refraction component was 0.26 dptr.
