Abstract Details
Purpose:
We report for the first time the application of Corneal Collagen Crosslinking with Photoactivated Riboflavin (PACK-CXL) for Treating Recalcitrant Phaco-Tunnel Fungal Infection.
Setting:
Advanced Eye Centre, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India.
Methods:
Case Report
Results:
A 60year old female presented with history of pain, redness, watering 1 month after cataract surgery. On examination, visual acuity was 20/40, deep stromal infiltrate was present at the site of main port. Repeated intrastromal injections of voriconazole were given weekly for 4 weeks. Localized collagen crosslinking was performed thereafter. The size of the infiltrate started decreasing remarkably and corneal vascularization had begun.
Conclusions:
his is the 1st report of successful treatment of deep stromal fungal keratitis after phacoemulsification by collagen crosslinking.
