Abstract Details
Purpose:
To analyze the functional results of femtosecond laser-assisted cataracts surgery cataracts in patients with implanted trifocal IOL PanOptix.
Setting:
Ufa Eye Reseach Insitute, Ufa, Russia
Methods:
189 patients (284 eyes underwent Femtolaser assisted cataract surgery. 1 group -138 eyes who were implanted with the trifocal lens PanOptix (model "TFNTOO", Alcon, USA), the second (control) group - 146 eyes with an implanted multifocal IOL "ActySof ReSTOR IQ" (Alcon, USA) with ADD power of +3.0 D (model "SN6AD1").
Results:
The UCVA in distance and near at photopic conditions 2 weeks after the operation was statistically significantly higher (p <0.05) in patients of the main group than in the control group. After 3 months the visual acuity was equal in both groups (visual acuity in the main group was slightly higher, but the data was statistically unreliable). Visual acuity at an intermediate distance was also significantly higher (p <0.05) in the main group, with a significant difference in the compared groups persisting throughout the period of observation.
Conclusions:
In patients with the implanted Acrysof IQ Panoptix IOL visual acuity was high at all investigated distances throughout the observation period and did not depend on the illuminance level.
