Abstract Details

Purpose:

To study the clinical results of phacoemulsification of cataract and refractive surgery lens exchange with implantation of trifocal intraocular lenses Panoptix Acrysof IQ (Alcon).

Setting:

Department of eye diseases of the "Samara state medical University", Ophthalmic clinic "Eye Surgery", Samara, Russia

Methods:

The results of a prospective open study of cataract phacoemulsification and refractive lens surgery with implantation of Acrysof IQ PanOptix/TFNT00 (Alcon) intraocular lenses in all patients were studied. The calculation of the optical power of the IOL was performed using a navigation system, "VERION" (Alcon). Functional and refractive indices before and after surgery were evaluated.

Results:

Trifocal IOL was implanted in 25 patients (50 eyes). After surgery, NCVA was to near 0,75±0,15 at medium distances 0,80±0,15, the far distance of 0.90±0,25. The BCVA was increased near was 0.95±0,03 at medium distances 0,95±0,02, the far distance 0,95±0,01. Sphericules clinical refraction made -0,10±0.25 diopter. Target refraction (em±0.5 DPT) was achieved in all patients. There were no intraoperative or postoperative complications. All patients are satisfied with the treatment.

Conclusions:

Implantation of intraocular lenses "AcrySof PanOptix Trifocal IOL" is a highly effective, predictable and stable method of correction of aphakia in cataract surgery and refractive surgery of the lens, providing patients with good functional results near, middle and far distance.
