Abstract Details
Purpose:
To investigate the agreement of biological measurements obtained with the IOLMaster 700 and the IOLMaster 500 in pseudophakic patients.
Setting:
Department of Ophthalmology, Beijing Tongren Eye Center, Beijing Tongren Hospital, Beijing Ophthalmology and Visual Science Key Laboratory, Capital Medical University, Beijing, China
Methods:
In this prospective comparative case series, a total of 718 eyes from 374 pseudophakic patients were included. Keratometry (Kf and Ks), corneal power vector analysis (J0 and J45), anterior chamber depth (ACD), white-to-white distance (WTW), and axial length (AL) were examined with the IOLMaster 700 and the IOLMaster 500 by an experienced operator at the same time. The paired sample t test, intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), and Bland-Altman analysis were used to evaluate the results.
Results:
There were statistically significant differences between the two instruments except the Kf. Except for ACD and WTW, good agreements were indicated by the ICC. The measurement failures of ACD were much higher in the IOLMaster 700 than in the IOLMaster 500.
Conclusions:
In pseudophakic patients, the agreement between the IOLMaster 700 and the IOLMaster 500 were excellent except ACD and WTW; the IOLMaster 700 was less effective in obtaining ACD.
