Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of implantable collamer lens (ICL) with central hole in the correction of moderate and low myopia.

Setting:

Refractive surgery center of tianjin aier eye hospital The video(available at https://pan.baidu.com/s/1hXKrLfDP94vnZT_qEKCD6Q .Password: d4rx)

Methods:

Forty-four eyes of 22 patients undergone implantation of the V4c ICL in our hospital from January 2017 to January 2018 were were evaluated. Uncorrected visual acuity, optometry, intraocular pressure, mydriasis optometry, fundus examination, corneal thickness, corneal topography and corneal endothelium count were examined before operation. The patients were followed up for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year after implantation of the V4c ICL. The uncorrected visual acuity, intraocular pressure, computer optometry, vault and endothelial count were recorded.

Results:

The mean spherical equivalent dropped from -5.24 ±1.93D to -0.35 ±0.28D,and postoperative astigmatism was corrected within ±0.25D.The postoperative visual acuity of all patients reached or exceeded 20/20. There was no significant difference in IOP between postoperative and preoperative IOP (P ≤ 0.483). There was no significant difference between preoperative corneal endothelial count (3019.90 ±325.15)cell/ mm2 and postoperative mean corneal endothelial count (2998.64 ±387.59) cell/ mm2 (P ≤ 0.845). The vault at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year after operation were (379.00 ±199.64) μm, (457.50 ±202.56) μm, (480.00 ±99.78) μm and (498.20 ±98.85) μm, respectively.

Conclusions:

Implantable collamer lens with central hole in the correction of moderate and low myopia is safe and effective.
