Epithelial ingrowth following central toxic keratopathy

Abstract Details

Purpose:

To report a case of epithelial ingrowth secondary to central toxic keratopathy following femtosecond assisted LASIK

Setting:

L V Prasad Eye Instiute, Hyderabad, India.

Methods:

23 year old, developed central toxic keratopathy (CTK) following femtosecond assisted LASIK. There was presence of striae in both eyes secondary to the CTK. Subsequently, in the left eye the patient presented with epithelial ingrowth for which she underwent flap lift and debridement.

Results:

Following the flap lift for the epithelial ingrowth, there was resolution of the same with no recurrence.

Conclusions:

Epithelial ingrowth is a rare complication following Central Toxic Keratopathy, with this report being the first of its kind.
