Abstract Details

Purpose:

Compare the indicators of visual functions (distance visual acuity, near visual acuity, quality of vision) in patients after implantation of one of four models of multifocal lenses.

Setting:

All patients underwent a standard ophthalmologic examination.  Patients are operated for cataracts with bilateral or unilateral implantation of one of four intraocular lenses: Oculentis Comfort ( 7 eyes), AcrySof IQ PanOptix (Alcon ( 7 eyes), AT Lisa 839 MR (Zeiss)( 10 eyes), AT Lisa 809 M (Zeiss)( 4 eyes).

Methods:

The study included 16 patients (28 eyes) with bilateral or one-sided cataract, whose average age was 60.25 years. The exclusion criteria were patients with previous ophthalmologic operations, eye injuries, acute eye diseases, glaucoma. The results were evaluated according to the following parameters: age, distance visual acuity without correction, distance visual acuity with correction, visual acuity near without correction, visual acuity near with correction.

Results:

The highest visual acuity at a distance was achieved with the implantation of a trifocal lens. AT Lisa 839 MP Zeiss The highest visual acuity near was noted during the implantation of the lens AT Lisa 839 MP Zeiss.

Conclusions:

Intraocular lenses have become an effective solution for patients who do not want to use glasses after removing cataracts when working at long, medium and short distances. Side effects, such as halos, glare, reduced contrast sensitivity, patients did not notice According to the results, implantation of the Oculentis Comfort lens can be recommended for patients with concomitant eye diseases and for monocular implantation. Other lenses (AcrySof IQ PanOptix (Аlcon), AT Lisa 839 MР (Zeiss), АT Lisa 809 M (Zeiss)) are recommended for patients for whom lens replacement was planned for two eyes.
