Abstract Details
Purpose:
To determine the visual outcomes of trifocal, toric, hydrophobic IOL, the Alcon Acrysof IQ PanOptix Toric.
Setting:
St. Adalbert Hospital/Szpital sw. Wojciecha Poznan, Poland
Methods:
A retrospective single-center study. The study included patients with cataract or qualified for a refractive lens exchange (RLE) implanted with Alcon Acrysof IQ PanOptix Toric. The surgery was planned using Alcon Verion Vision Planner 3.1. 15 eyes of 10 subjects were operated by 1 surgeon, 5 patients had the lens implanted binocularly. Uncorrected and corrected distance, intermediate and near visual acuity as well as refractive errors were measured.
Results:
Eleven eyes had hyperopia with corneal astigmatism, 4 eyes were emmetropic before the surgery. All patients benefited, to differing extents, from gained distance, intermediate and near visual acuity quality, however residual refractive error (myopic shift) appeared in 1 patient, that underwent prior laser surface ablation, requiring additional laser correction.
Conclusions:
Performance of Alcon Acrysof PanOptix Toric gives promising visual outcomes. Alcon Verion Vision Planner 3.1 gives satisfactory accuracy in prediction of residual refractive error.
