Abstract Details

Purpose:

Assessment of vision quality (near, intermediate and far), patient satisfaction and spectacle independence.

Setting:

Eye Hospital "MEDILENS" - Kielce - Poland

Methods:

30 Precision Presbyopic lenses were implanted in 23 patients (in 7 cases bilaterally). Likewise, 22 AT Lisa Tri toric 939MP lenses and 14 AT Lisa Tri 839MP were implanted (in 11 cases bilaterally). The total number of patients that underwent surgery was 25. Assessment of results was performed one and three months post implantation. All patients led active lifestyle.

Results:

Good and very good visual acuity was achieved in all patients. Spectacle dependence in the case of AT Lisa tri and Precision Presbyopic lenses was 8% and 4% respectively. Patients’ satisfaction was between 4 to 5 at the 0 to 5 point scale. The optical phenomena were also evaluated.

Conclusions:

The phenomena of halo and glare practically do not occur in the case of Precision Presbyopic lenses. In the case of AT Lisa tri lenses the presence of both phenomena was minimal and has no impact on night driving. Both types of compared lenses provide excellent solution for patients with an active lifestyle and the need for spectacle independence.
