Abstract Details
Purpose:
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of implantation of implantable collamer lens (ICL, V4c) for the correction of low-to-moderate myopic astigmatism.
Setting:
Kunming Aier Eye Hospital, Kunming,China
Methods:
A retrospective study included 367 eyes of 208 patients who underwent the implantation of V4c from January 2016 to September 2018(ICL: 196 eyes; TICL:171 eyes). Pre and postoperative BCVA, UCVA, refraction and spherical equivalent (SE)were assessed and compared. The vault was measured by OCT at each follow up. The duration of follow up was 6 months after surgery.
Results:
The postoperative UCVA of all the eyes was better than the preoperative BCVA. The UCVA at 7 days,1 and 3 months post-surgery was significantly better than 1day post-surgery. The mean SE dropped from -5.16±1.28D preoperatively to 0.05±0.28 D at 6 months post-surgery. The difference between each visit was not significant (P>0.05).
The mean ECD didn’t change significantly from preoperatively to 1month post-surgery. ( P>0.05);The vault of 1, 3 and 6 months post-surgery was significantly lower than day 1.(P<0.05)
No complications such as glaucoma, cataract or cystoid macular edema occurred.
Conclusions:
Implantation of ICL V4c was safe, effective, predictable and stable for the correction of low-to-moderate myopic astigmatism throughout the 6-month observation period
