Abstract Details
Purpose:
To describe the long term clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction after PRESBYOND® LASIK in a tertiary care centre.
Setting:
Nethradhama Superspeciality Eye Hospital, India
Methods:
In this retrospective analysis, 125 bilateral PRESBYOND® procedures using the aspheric ablation profiles with the CRS Master® and Mel 90® excimer laser were performed. Mean age of the patients were 50.70±4.71 years. Majority of the patients had hyperopia[50%], followed by myopia [46%] and the rest were emmetropes[4%]. One year clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction were analysed.
Results:
At one year, 90.32% of patients maintained a binocular UDVA of 20/20 or better. 100% of patients had a binocular UDVA 20/32 of better. 95.16% of patients maintained a binocular UNVA of N6 or better and 100% maintained a binocular UNVA of N10 or better. 4%[n=5 eyes] underwent enhancement for the non-dominant eye, which was corrected for near vision. 96% of the patients reported spectacle independence. None of the patients reported dysphotopsia at the end of one year.
Conclusions:
PRESBYOND LASIK provided stable long term outcomes in terms of visual acuity at all distances and good patient satisfaction across a range of refractive errors
