FLACS with new LenSx PIs: first results

Abstract Details

Purpose:

To compare FLACS procedures with new PI's for flat or steep corneal curvature ( below 41 or above 46 D).

Setting:

Eye Clinic Horni Pocernice, Obchodni 2, 193 00, Prague, Czech republic

Methods:

This is the retrospective review of 25 patients ( 50 yes ) with preoperative corneal curvature below 41 D or above 46 D. Bilateral , one day surgery with  using standard PI's on  first eye and new PI's on second eye. Quality of corneal incisions and CCC was recorded.

Results:

Both groups with excellent location and stability of incisions.    Both group with excellent   centration and  quality of CCC.  2 eye ( 8%) with standard PI's with leakage of primary incision, 1 eye ( 4%)  with standard  PI's with incomplete CCC.

Conclusions:

Slightly better results in group with new PI's in cases with very steep or very flat corneas in FLACS procedures.
