Effect of femto-assisted relaxing incisions for correction of mixed astigmatism on presbyopia

Abstract Details

Purpose:

To evaluate the effect of correction of mixed astigmatism by femto assisted relaxing incisions on presbyopia

Setting:

International Femtolasik Centre, Cairo, Egypt

Methods:

This is a retrospective study of 49 eyes of 25 patients 19 males 6 females ages between 45 and 64 years whom asking for refractive surgery , for whom femto assisted relaxing incisions was done for correction of mixed astigmatism, follow up for far and near vision weekly during the first month then after 3 months, both eyes were operated at the same time,  one male patient only his left eye was operated the other eye was emmetrope

Results:

All patients had good vision for near from the first week and staid stable through the follow up, the far vision was not perfect at the first week but became more better during the follow up with maximum at the end of 3rd month

Conclusions:

Femto assisted relaxing incisions for correction of mixed astigmatism is a perfect solution for far and near vision for presbyopic patients
