Abstract Details
Purpose:
Demonstrate an effective usage of femtosecond laser technology to precisely cut a retained Descemet's membrane after penetrating keratoplasty
Setting:
femtosecond laser usage on human subjects
Methods:
Case reports of two patients diagnosed with retained Descemet's membrane post penetrating keratoplasty. Femtosecond lasers used to cut a window to clear the visual access first, followed by surgical removal of the free floating cut membrane.
Results:
Femtoseconds lasers successfully created a free floating membrane in one patient and partially in the other.
Conclusions:
Femtosecond laser is effective in clearing the visual access , in patients diagnosed with retained Descemet's memberane after penetrating keratoplasty.
