Abstract Details
Purpose:
To discuss the treatment, evolution and complications in a four-year-old follow-up of a female patient who presented with bilateral Mooren's ulcers.
Setting:
Cornea and Ocular Surface Unit. Vall d´Hebron Hospital. Barcelona. Spain.
Methods:
A single retrospective case report.
Results:
An eighty-five-year-old female patient presented with hyperemia and discomfort in her right eye after a traumatic event. The first examination showed peripheral ulcerative keratitis that evolved favourably after a four-month corticosteroids treatment that was tapered down and maintained with topic tacrolimus. Over the years both eyes developed 360º thinning with no epithelial defects.
Conclusions:
