Abstract Details
Purpose:
To present the first case of Brown-McLean syndrome in a 29 years-old Saudi male who is known to have homocystinuria.
Setting:
Saudi Arabia
Methods:
Data collection after review of electronic medical records. We reviewed the literature and found no case reports of patients who have Brown-McLean Syndrome in combination with Homocystinuria
Results:
The possibility of having a Brown-McLean Syndrome in Saudi Arabia should be kept in mind by the treating physician, as this syndrome, most of the time has no effect in the patient’s vision, since the central cornea is spared.
Patients with systemic diseases which are presenting with subluxated lens, such as; Marfan and homocystinuria, or patients who underwent any ocular surgery in the past, should be examined and followed-up carefully.
