Abstract Details

Purpose:

To compare IOL calculation after corneal myopic refractive surgery with optical biometer (IOL-Master 700 Zeiss) and K-1 method

Setting:

Explore Vision Paris

Methods:

K-1 method is based on K measurement (Topcon KR 8500): Mean K-1D is used with SRKT formula and IOL power for emmetropia is selected by targeting IOL calculation for -1D in calculation table. IOL-Master 700 (Zeiss) performed calculation using Haigis Suite Formula. Axial length has been measured by IOL Master 700 and B-Mode Biometry. Exclusion criterias: no axial length measurement by IOL master, differences in axial length measurement between IOL-Master and B-Mode Biometry, poor keratometry datas. Our series is based on 30 Patients (Mean Age 64+/- 9) : 37 eyes have been operated but only 28 eyes meet the inclusion criterias .

Results:

Targeted Post-Op refraction have been reached with +/-1D (71,42% Haigis and 67,85% K-1), +/- 2D ( 92,85%, 96,42% respectively) Only 1 eye have most than 2D difference against targeted refraction with K-1 method (2,29D) but 2 eyes have respectively a 3,83D and 4,24D difference with IOL-Master 700.

Conclusions:

K-1 method can be an efficient option for IOL calculation after refractive surgery in case of no modern optical biometer availablility.
