Abstract Details
Purpose:
To describe a case of refractive surprise after cataract surgery combined with a XEN implant.
Setting:
Hospital Universitario Miguel Servet (Zaragoza) Spain
Methods:
We describe a refractive surprise in a patient after a combined cataract - glaucoma (xen implant) surgery.
We analyze the possible causes of this refractive error, and we explain the possible solutions.
Results:
In our patient the mistake was to advance the study of the angle before calculating the power of the intraocular lens. Due to that change, the values of the cornal curvature weren’t the real ones.
Conclusions:
We insist in the importance of a detailed and regulated examination prior to every surgery to decrease possible errors, that can be easily corrected before the surgery.
