Abstract Details
Purpose:
To describe a modified technique for the management of anterior capsular contraction syndrome.
Setting:
Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Methods:
A 65-year-old woman developed a complete anterior capsular phimosis four months post-uncomplicated cataract surgery.
Results:
C-shaped Nd:YAG anterior capsulotomy was performed, following a superior arcuate pattern, 200-degrees circumferential to central opacity.
Conclusions:
Direct resolution of phimosis and anterior contraction observed. Twelve-months follow up showed improvement in vision and no recurrence or need for further treatment.
