Abstract Details

Purpose:

To estimate the effect of surgical treatment of complex " capsular bag (CB) , intracapsular ring (IR), IOL" on the background of PXF.

Setting:

Kazakh Research Institute of Eye Diseases, Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Methods:

There were analyzed 17 patients with complex dislocation. At the moment of admission average indicators  were: Visual acuity-0.005(n/c), anamnesis morbi: Phacoemulsification with implantation of  IOL+intracapsular ring in a period of no more than 8 years after operation. Dislocation of complex was characterized only by offset in the frontal plane as " the setting sun". According to patients a sharp decrease in vision was noted from 2 weeks to a month: In 14 cases 82,4%without reasons, in 3 cases 17.6% were traumas in anamnesis. All patients were operated: Reposition of complex with transscleral fixation on 12 hours.

Results:

During the surgical treatment the complex was fixed  in the posterior chamber of the eye. At the moment of discharge indicators were: Visual acuity on average-0.4(n\correspondent),IOP -15.1mmHg.

Conclusions:

1) transscleral fixation of " CB, intracapsular ring, IOL " complex is an effective surgical method in the case оf its dislocation, which provides central position of lens, reducing  risk of developing pre-postoperation complications, increasing of vision. 2)results of surgical treatment of "CB, intracapsular ring, IOL " complex dislocation allowes for the optimisation of social reabilitation for old patient with severe condition in the initial state.
