Abstract Details
Purpose:
In order to improve dyslexia based on neurobiological causes, including visual perception problems, an objective solution based on the prevalence and type classification of the data base is needed. However, the reality suggests a short-term or one-time improvement plan based on estimates based on the sample survey results. Therefore, we propose effective treatment guidelines for the improvement of dyslexia by comparing and analyzing the prevalence rate of dyslexia according to refractive error.
Setting:
Iyun eye Hospital.
Methods:
We performed IYUN dyslexia test for 500 students aged 8 ~ 13 years, and 57 of them showed dyslexia. Next, we analyzed statistical significance of the prevalence of dyslexia according to refractive error in 443 patients without dyslexia and 57 with dyslexia.
Results:
There was no statistically significant difference in the prevalence of dyslexia according to refractive error. However, amblyopia was statistically significantly higher in dyslexia cases.
Conclusions:
If amblyopia is observed in the future, it is expected that more efficient and accurate diagnosis will be obtained by proceeding with dyslexia test.
