Abstract Details

Purpose:

To determine the agreement of corneal power measurements between IOLmaster, Lenstar, Pentacam, iTrace, Verion, Atlas and an auto-refractometer KR-800.

Setting:

Prospective Study

Methods:

Totally 88 eyes of 88 health subjects were included in this study. Mean keratometric data, magnitude of astigmatism and astigmatism axis were captured with IOlmaster 500 (Zeiss), Lenstar LS-900 (Haag-Streit), Pentacam HR(Oculus), iTrace(Tracey Technology), Verion(Alcon), Atlas 995 corneal topography(Zeiss), KR-800 auto-refractometer (Topcon). Comparison with IOLmaster, mean keratometric results of other six devices were evaluated by using Bland–Altman plots. Double-angle plots were used to describe the differences in astigmatism assessment.

Results:

The mean K of these seven devices was 43.43±1.36D (IOLmaster), 43.63±1.36D (Lenstar), 43.43±1.36D (SimK, Pentacam), 43.44±1.65D (iTrace), 43.97±1.52D (Verion), 43.37±1.37D (Altas) and 43.62±1.44 (KR-800), respectively. For the 95% limits of agreement (LoA) of mean K measurements, there was the narrowest LoA between IOL Master500 and Lenstar900 (from -0.14 to 0.33), while the greatest LoA between IOL Master500 and iTrace (from -1.5 to 2.0). The centroid errors between IOL Master and other devices were 0.09D×78°±0.33D, 0.08D×69°±0.40D, 0.12D×80°±0.36D, 0.09D×13°±0.41D, 0.37D×77°±0.68D, 0.14D×86°±0.39D.

Conclusions:

Keratometric and astigmatic result obtained of IOL master500, Lenstar900, Pentacam and Verion showed good consistency
