Abstract Details

Purpose:

To analyze the lens vaulting after ICL implantation in myopic patients with anteriorly positioned ciliary body. which were measured by ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) as well as the adjustments of the vault.

Setting:

Hankou Aier Eye hospital

Methods:

A retrospective reasearch of the preoperative UBM parameters of ciliary body position and central vault in one week postoperative after ICL implantation in our hospital from 2015 to 2018.

Results:

Sixty eyes were found to have anteriorly positioned ciliary body, with a prevalence of 3.7% . The trabecular-ciliary process distance (TCPD), iris-ciliary process distance (ICPD), trabecular-ciliary process angle (angle A), iris-ciliary process angle, and ciliary body thickness (CBTmax) were 1.30±0.19mm, 0.38±0.07mm, 101.9°±26.1°, 20.7°±10.7°, and 1.20±0.22mm, respectively. The central vault in one week postoperative was 1129.8±272.4um. Among these patients, ICL removal was performed in one eye. ICL replacement was performed in 4 eyes.ICL was rotated to the vertical diameter during surgery in 12 eyes, and a smaller size model was used in 7 eyes.

Conclusions:

Myopic patients with anteriorly positioned ciliary body may have a inappropriate vault after ICL implantation. It is nesscessary to analyze the position of the ciliary body before ICL implantation.
