Abstract Details
Purpose:
The purpose of this study was to estimate the stability of hitting the target refraction of three types of monofocal IOL (AcrySof IQ (SN60WF), CT Aspira-aAy and Asphina 409M) using total corneal power in 4 mm zone (Pentacam).
Setting:
The St.-Petersburg Branch of the S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery State Institution
Methods:
This retrospective randomized study included 208 patients (208 eyes), who underwent microcoaxial phacoemulsification. The calculation algorithm of optical power of IOLs was based on 4 formulas: Holladay 1, Haigis, Hoffer Q, SRK/T. Depending on type of the implanted IOL patients were divided into 3 groups: AcrySof IQ (SN60WF) - 42, Aspira-aAy - 98, Asphina 409M – 68.
Results:
The percentage of eyes with prediction errors between ±0.25 diopter were 76%, 77.5%, 77.9%, between ±0.5 diopter 85.7%, 92.8%, 89.7%, between ±1.0 diopter 92.8%, 97.9%, 98.5%, and between 2.0 diopter 97.6%, 100%, 100% after implantation of IQ, Aspira and Asphina respectively. ME and MAE were the following: -1.29, +0.01, -0.13 and +\- 0.244, +\- 0.159, +\- 0.169 in IOL IQ, Aspira and Asphina respectively. They were no statistically significant differences between IOLs (p>0.05).
Conclusions:
All three types of monofocal IOL have shown high precision of hit in a target refraction using total corneal power (4 mm zone) during calculation.
