Abstract Details

Purpose:

To demonstrate the usefulness of a systematic approach for outcome analysis in refractive surgery

Setting:

Bergman Oogzorg - VisionClinics. Private practice for general ophthalmology and refractive surgery in the Netherlands

Methods:

All medical data are recorded in an EMR. Selected data are automatically exported to a database, anonymized, and uploaded to IBRA ophthalmic outcome analysis software.

Results:

Analysis of all 13,000 records of primary PRK, TransPRK and Femtolasik from July 2012 to July 2013 are presented. Follow-up varies from 1 week to 12 months

Conclusions:

Systematic outcome analysis in refractive surgery is a valuable tool to improve results and to allow benchmarking with peers
