Abstract Details

Purpose:

To assess the results of KAMRA Cornea Inlay after 6 Months.

Setting:

Elite Eye Center, Riyadh-Saudi Arabia

Methods:

3 Techniques were used, Combined Lasik KAMRA technique (CLK), Combined Lasik KAMRA using a new technique (CLK+) & Pocket Emmetrope KAMRA (PEK). For 37 eyes/37 patients, Age Avg±SD (range) 48.97±4.22 years (42 to 60) years, Sex 19 (51.4%) Male; 18 (48.6%) Female, Eye 14 (38%) OD; 23 (62%) OS.

Results:

Uncorrected Distance Visual Acuity (LogMar) was 0.23 after 1w. & 0.14 after 6M. with 20/34 after 1W. & 20/27 after 6M. Uncorrected Intermediate Visual Acuity (LogMar) was 0.14 after 1w. & 0.09 after 6M. with 20/27 after 1W. & 20/25 after 6M. Uncorrected Distance Visual Acuity (Jaeger) was 2.73 after 1w. & 2.00 after 6M. Uncorrected Near Visual Acuity (LogMar) was 0.13 after 1w. & 0.04 after 6M. with 20/3426 after 1W. & 20/2205 after 6M. Uncorrected Near Visual Acuity (Jaeger) was 2.58 after 1w. & 1.41 after 6M.

Conclusions:

Small Aperture corneal Inlay is a safe procedure for correction of Presbyopia, Non of our patients lost any line for near or intermediate vision. Small Aperture corneal Inlay is an effective way to improve near & intermediate vision to a level of J2 or better. 50% of our patients gained ?2 lines for intermediate vision. >75% of our patients gained ?2 lines for near vision
